The Copyright Act
protects photographers by giving the author of the
photograph the exclusive right to reproduce your
photographs. This includes the right to control the
making of copies. It is illegal to copy or reproduce
photographs without written permission and violators
of the Federal Law will be subject to civil and
criminal penalties.
Please do not harm my reputation by having poor
quality copies made of my hard work. A copy is never
as good as the original, and when you hand out a
cheap copy, you damage my hard-earned reputation and
deprive me of my livelihood. I need to provide for
family just as you do. You came to my studio because
you wanted the best. I have given myself, my talent
and my time to make beautiful memories for you and
your family. Please allow me to make any additional
prints you would like. My family and I thank you.
